What Makes SharedCare Affordable?
SharedCare is not modeled like traditional health programs because we want to emphasize health improvement and empowerment. SharedCare is a tightly managed and coordinated approach to health care that seeks to balance effective use of health services and community resources with health education, support for healthier lifestyles, and member responsibility.
Most importantly, we care about your health. We will partner with you to improve your health today so you can have a better quality of life. We strongly believe in education and offer classes on chronic disease and other health issues. We provide support for members in lifestyle issues such as weight reduction and smoking cessation so members can achieve their optimal health.
SharedCare has established a comprehensive provider network within the tri-county region to provide primary and preventative services at rates that adequately compensate the provider while also maintaining affordable co-pays for enrolled members. This plan actively involves employers, employees, the regional hospital system, local health care providers, and community organizations and is designed to improve health, not just provide sick care.
Many local stakeholders have contributed to the design and implementation of the SharedCare Plan including: HealthMatters of Central Oregon, Central Oregon Independent Practice Association, Bend Memorial Clinic, Mosaic Medical, La Pine Community Health Center, Mountain View Hospital, Deschutes County Health Services, Volunteers in Medicine, participating health care providers, community leaders, health insurers, local businesses, community members, and the State of Oregon. These partnerships have made it possible to offer affordable health coverage through the SharedCare Plan.
